Hi, they have a whole range of sensors build into them, for example a temperature sensor to detect heat, a pressure sensor to see if someone is touching them, bumpers so they can tell if they have walked into a wall, and microphones so they can listen to music or voices. They also have what is called a wireless radio, which lets the robots send signals to talk to each other or a laptop. These two things combined make the robots much smarter than other toys, and we have used them to do many different things, such as dancing to the beat of music, finding their way out of a giant maze, responding to voice commands and drawing pictures on a tablet!
