• Question: How come cars only run on petrol

      Hi Jake,

      Cars don’t only run on petrol. Different engines can use differnet fuels such as diesel, electricty and there are also a number of biofuels available.

      Engines that burn different fuels (petrol, diesel etc) have to be designed differently. I tried to explain why in this answer.

      Hi Jane,

      Cars can run on lots of substances. Some cars can even run on vegetable oil!
