      The human thumb is about 30mm long by 20mm wide (mine is anyway!), which gives a total area of 600 mm^2. One of my lasers is about 1mm long and 0.002 mm wide, which means the area of one laser is 0.001 mm^2. So on your thumb you could fit 600 /0.001 …which is…600,000 lasers!

      I think that really gives a sense of how small they are!
