No not at all. Religion is not something that I have ever come across as an issue in college or in work.

Hi Ciara, good question. Where I work we have a lot of international students and staff, so there is a mixture of different cultures coming together. Someone’s religion doesn’t matter at all and like Sinead, I have never seen this be an issue in college or work.

It doesn’t affect my engineering work. But engineers do sometimes have to make ethical choices, so they should have a strong sense of right and wrong.

      Absolutely not!

I have worked in places where the main religion was different to my own and if anything it is beneficial. Diversity in a team gives you a broader outlook on things, and gives you more options to choose from.

As Nathan mentioned, we have to be sure that everything we do will have a POSITIVE impact in the world. We need a sense of what is right and wrong. As engineer you have the power to enhance peoples lives, but you also have the power to design things to hurt them. You need to make sure what you are doing is ethical and right.
